WANT Beverages team rider, Ashleigh McIvor took first place in the Olympic debut of the women’s ski cross discipline at Vancouver 2010 Winter Games yesterday.

What a show she put on right from the second she left the start gate and held her lead against Hedda Berntsen of Norwayand Marion Josserand of France. It was great day for Ashleigh in her native of BC, to win the gold medal in front of all her family and friends that gathered to show their support. Ashleigh has been racing on the world cup ski cross circuit since 2003. She was the favoured of four Canadian female athletes on the national team participating at the ski cross debut at the 2010 Winter Olympics.
